A Journey of Your Own

Often in the generation we live in today, we look to social media to see where we should be in life and what we should look forward to accomplishing. Blind to the fact, that everyone is on their own journey, and we all have a different purpose in life. Too many times, I have witnessed people complain about not being where someone else is in life, or envying the material things others have. Read this carefully, and allow this to sink in. YOU are on your own journey, and only YOUR hard work and dedication can truly fulfill your happiness and success.
Due to the technology we have today, it allows us to show the world whatever we want that goes on in our personal life that we wouldn't normally show if it wasn't for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or even Snapchat. Rather than posting, it's what we compare our lives to off of these social medias that affect us in the long run. Just because a fellow follower is in the prime of their life, going on elaborate vacations, and buying different luxuries; doesn't mean you are behind in life if you aren't doing that just yet. Everything happens for everyone differently and in a different time frame. If we all had the same goals and career, life wouldn't be any fun. As you are maturing into your own person, this gives you the time to figure out what you want in life, and try different things out. That's the beauty in it all. If you allow yourself to get caught up on the material things, and just wanting to compete with someone who appears as if they are happy, then you're sadly misguided.
See it here first, you do not want to rush your life. You never know what someone has done or had to do to get all that they have accomplished. The trials and tribulations people and myself go through to reach our own idea of success is what makes posting a picture of that new house or car worth it. It is only to share accomplishments, and hopefully motivate other fellow brothers and sisters to go after everything they want in life, so that they can do the same. Rather than envying your brothers and sisters when they are in a glorifying moment of their accomplishments, celebrate with them.
Work towards what you want at your own speed, and remember that only God knows what's in store for you in the future. Your job is to just live, learn, and prosper in any and everything you do. Sometimes in order to do that, we have to sometimes take a step back from the electronics and social media, and if that's the case; then that's okay as well. Just make your journey a memorable one, and keep it all about you and no one else. Until next time, shine on my Kings and Queens.
