Discussing the "V" in the Room
The one thing that is miscommunicated between women and even young girls a lot, is the importance of a healthy vagina. Yes I said vagina. I'm gonna start by saying that IF IT'S SCENTED KEEP IT AWAY! For some reason there is a misconception that you need to try and make your vagina smell like fruits and flowers.... WELL STOP IT! Your vagina is suppose to smell like a VAGINA. No that doesn't mean it suppose to stink, because if it does then you need to go see a doctor, but a healthy and clean vagina should have its own natural scent. I don't know if you all know this, but your vagina is its own cleaning machine. To properly clean your vagina, all you need is WARM WATER. I know that the whole idea of Summer's Eve may tickle your fancy, but that product alone can cause yeast infections if used too often and can mess up your PH balance in your V-Town. Now, we all know the saying " you are what you eat ", well that is even more true when it comes to your V. What you put inside your body has an impact on your vagina just as it does the rest of your body. As far as moisture goes, coconut oil is your best friend! Now, let me be the first to tell you that there are many things that must breathe in this world, and your vagina is definitely one of them. So what's the solution you ask? NO UNDIES (at night at least) or sleep naked, its up to the person. Coconut oil is what you use for moisture, but as far as water goes, your vagina should always be clean and dry to prevent yeast from growing. If sexually active, PEE after intercourse! Why? Urinating after sex flushes all bacteria out that you could've possibly contracted during sex. Sounds gross, but you'll thank me later. Lace panties are lovely, but on those period days/nights, cotton panties allow your V to breathe while you keep the flow under control. Since we're on periods and what not, let me be the one to say that TAMPONS and PADS are meant to be CHANGED regularly during the day! Not once or twice but several, so that bacteria doesn't get a chance to breed infection. It's a bird, it's a plane, it's your pubic hair. I'm just gonna cut to the chase with this one, if you're gonna keep the bush, keep it clean and trimmed up good. For some reason I hear more and more women talk about their hatred toward their pubic hair and how they shave their V bald, but they're sadly misguided. Your hair on your vagina is to protect you form bacteria, although keeping your pubic hair long could very much so do the exact opposite. This is because it gives bacteria a moist place to hide, but just like it is easy to get bacteria its just as easy to prevent. Just keep your V trimmed, and make sure that you are cleaning the hair just as you are your vagina. If you are shaving bald for certain reasons, just make sure it isn't a regular thing to give your V a break. For those of you that put Nair on your V, QUIT IT! Nair is NOT for your vagina, and what a coincidence because the product was created by people who don't even have vaginas -_- so save yourself and GET EDUCATED! Regulate what you insert into your vagina, nothing dirty or with an expiration date should be put into your vagina. Getting to know your body and special V has been proven to raise women's confidence in their bodies and with their sexuality. Don't be afraid to explore your own body, it's YOUR body! Just make sure that you are taking the best care of your body and vagina, and always out your health first. Until next time queens. . . .
